My Canvas Has Laces is a project to help raise money for Shoe Bank Canada whose efforts help those in need with the most fundamental of clothing: the shoes on our feet. Artists from across Canada will use a blank pair of shoes as their ‘canvas’ that will be auctioned off at our Gala event on October 14, 2017 to support Shoe Bank Canada’s expansion into Lower Mainland. Get your tickets here and follow us on Facebook for project and artist updates.
Join us for a night of art appreciation, music by the talented Adam Meachem, and locally-sourced bites by One Big Table. Our charity cocktail reception will include a live art auction featuring artists from across Canada who have painted Converse shoes along with many more silent auction items generously donated by the community.
Shoe Bank Canada collects shoes from warehouses of footwear companies and the closets of people like you. We distribute these shoes, free of charge, to people in need across Canada through food banks and other social agencies in conjunction with the Rotary Clubs. We have operations in the Okanagan Valley, Vancouver, and Ottawa, and so far we’ve been able to distribute more than 40,000 pairs of shoes to people across the country.
